We are facing an ever-changing market, driven by constant technological advances and a stream of new innovations. Many organizations are trying to keep pace while uncertain what direction to take. At Capella, we understand the challenge: our customers are not just looking for solutions—they’re looking for guidance on how to navigate change, modernize workflows, and adopt new technologies without disrupting what already works.
Capella’s mission is to serve as a bridge between the old and the new, helping customers transition at their own pace. Whether it’s migrating to the cloud, adopting hybrid infrastructure, or integrating AI for more efficient media processing, our 2025 product lineup is designed to meet our customers where they are, and take them where they want to go.
This approach has shaped our entire product lineup for 2025.
With Capella, cloud migration doesn't have to be all or nothing. Many media companies still rely on on-premise solutions due to cost, legacy infrastructure, or security requirements. We’ve designed our products to support hybrid workflows, allowing teams to retain the reliability of their on-prem setups while gradually adopting the cloud’s scalability and flexibility.
Cambria Cluster now manages both on-prem and cloud-based Cambria machines within a single interface. This unified approach simplifies scheduling and workflow orchestration, so teams don’t have to maintain separate systems or reinvent their processes.
When it comes to live encoding workflows, we know that change doesn’t happen overnight. Many of our customers continue to rely on on-prem encoders, especially for SDI ingest and contribution feeds. At the same time, they’re exploring cloud-based options for distribution, looking for scalability, flexibility, and reach. That’s why we’ve designed Cambria Live and Cambria Stream to work effortlessly together - supporting a hybrid setup that makes the transition smoother.
Cambria Live functions as the on-prem contribution encoder, ingesting SDI input and encoding it into a single, high-quality stream. This is then sent to Cambria Stream in the cloud, which takes over the distribution phase, generating multiple output formats such as HLS, MPEG-DASH, and CMAF. What makes this workflow so effective is its flexibility: operators can continue using reliable, on-prem tools while easily expanding into the cloud at their own pace.
Cambria Stream is built for scale. It supports high-density live encoding and can handle hundreds of simultaneous channels, making it ideal for 24/7 streaming. Reliability is essential at this scale, which is why we’ve implemented robust failover and redundancy strategies, including Dynamic Swap, a feature that keeps live streams running flawlessly by allowing machine instances to switch out without interrupting service. This also means operators can apply system updates without ever going offline.
And because monetization is just as important as technical performance, both Cambria Live and Cambria Stream come with built-in features to support ad insertion. With AI-assisted options already in place, we’re helping customers increase revenue while improving their workflow efficiency.
On the VOD side, Cambria FTC powers high-volume transcoding with flexible deployment options. It supports both GPU acceleration for high-efficiency encoding and cost-effective CPU processing for less critical tasks. And looking ahead, we’re integrating Video Processing Units (VPUs) to deliver the best of both worlds: lower costs with impressive processing efficiency.
When Capella first launched, our focus was on keeping up with customer demands. Today, we’re taking the lead - developing tools that anticipate industry needs and empower customers to future-proof their operations. Our solutions don't just respond to change; they enable transformation.
From smarter ad insertion to more efficient cloud operations, we're here to help customers not just adapt—but thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
