Does BCM come with a full redundancy feature?

Broadcast Manager offers robust redundancy for programs, configurable to run in N+1, N+M, or N+N "active-active" redundancy modes. Beyond program redundancy, the Manager itself is safeguarded with through a backup Manager machine, ensuring continuous operation.

Does BCM have a notification feature?

BCM includes a built-in monitoring feature that sends notifications based on specific machine and program conditions. Examples of detectable conditions include machine status, program start and stop streaming, loss of signal, absence of audio, or black input frames. These and other notification triggers are accessible through the Monitoring tab in BCM.

How many channels can BCM manage?

The maximum number of channels that BCM can control is not definitively known. BCM can manage a vast number of channels, but internal testing has confirmed that it can safely handle at least 50 channels.

What type of ad insertion signals does ABC support?

SCTE35/104, ARIB STD-B39, ESAM, External Signal, Software Cue, Timecode Cue

Does ABC and BCM come with a Web UI?

Yes, the Web UI allows you to set up and run live streaming programs, as well as monitor the programs and machines within the live streaming cluster. Additionally, it includes an Ad Break Control feature, enabling you to manually insert ad breaks during the stream.

Scheduler

BCM includes a scheduler that allows broadcasters to automatically start and stop streaming of live events. Operators can present multiple live events with individual project settings and recurring timetables. It also includes a pre-roll feature for cueing pre-prepared content before the start of scheduled events.

Notifications

BCM notifications keep you updated and help you monitor live streaming jobs and the health of each Cambria Live machine.

Machine Fail Over

Cambria Live Broadcast Manager can reassign jobs to alternative available Cambria Live workstations in the event of a network failure.

Rest Based API

BCM can be controlled via a REST-based API. Users can also send ad insertion instructions through the API.

Cambria BCM integrates with multiple Ad insertion platforms including Yospace, Broadpeak, AWS and Brightcove. Cambria Live Broadcast Manager responds to the commercial cue tones from Master Control that signal a switch from a live broadcast to a commercial or vice versa. This capability allows streaming simulcasts to seamlessly replace a broadcast’s commercials with streaming-optimized versions, or even cue new commercials to the live program.

Pre Fetch Support

Cambria BCM integrates with Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring Capella applications via web-based dashboards. Users can instantly assess the overall health and performance of of all Capella applications and immediately respond to issues.
