Reduce processing time while saving money. Split and Stitch separates source files into small chunks and processes them on multiple on prem or cloud computers. This flexible approach dramatically reduces compute time, and lowers costs by using cheaper spot cloud instances.
Preset Editor in WebUI
Easily configure encoding settings with a new Web UI - based preset editor.
Video/Audio Recognition
Cambria FTC can automatically analyze source files and detect multiple elements which can act as triggers for events. it can:
Detect and remove black frames and color bars
Detect score changes to help with making highlight clips
Gauge source file complexity to optimize encoding settings
Locate ad insertion points
Identify registered images
Perform Speech to Text conversion
Integration with Kubernetes Prometheus
Cambria FTC simplifies Kubernetes cluster monitoring by combining Kubernetes manifests, Grafana dashboards and Prometheus rules.
Workflow
Smart Watch Folder
Our Smart Watch Folder architecture uses an enhanced scripting feature to automate any number of complex workflows. It can analyze the source file properties and decide which type of transcoding is to be performed. Smart Watch Folder lets you easily set up and automate complex workflows.
Scriptable Workflow
Configure your workflow quickly and easily with a web-based script editor
Source Adaptive Bitrate Ladders
Automatically adjust the bitrate ladder used for DASH, HLS or Smooth Streaming based on the encoding complexity of the source video. Cambria FTC encodes easy to compress clips at a lower data rate than high motion videos.
Automatic Target Setting
Automatically configure target settings according to source file properties: set the resolution, frame rate, interlacing and aspect ratio of the original, and more.
Modern REST API
Easily control transcoding jobs and resources through Cambria FTC's modern, intuitive REST architecture.
On Prem, In the Cloud, or Hybrid
Deploy Cambria FTC on-prem, in the cloud or both for maximum flexibility. In hybrid workflows, additional Cambria FTC cloud instances can be initiated automatically to cope with sudden spikes in demand for encoding.
Performance
Optimized for CPU and GPU
Make the best possible use of both CPU and GPU. For low resolution, low bitrate transcoding, software processing can yield better quality. GPUs are ideal for rapid HEVC transcoding. Cambria FTC is highly optimized for maximum performance on multi-core computers and efficiently distributes the workload between resources to minimize encoding time.
Multiple GPU Support
Cambria FTC now supports NVIDIA NVENC, significantly accelerating HEVC encoding speeds. It is able to use multiple GPUs, distributing the work among the available resources, significantly reducing transcoding time. (This is an additional cost option)
Fast Transcoding Time
Cambria FTC speeds up transcoding by using the same scaling and deinterlacing processes for all streams to be output at the same resolution, accelerating the creation of adaptive bitrate encoding ladders. The software also optimizes processes like deinterlacing, frame conversion and scaling, and uses codecs like X264 and X265 that are best in class for speed and quality.
Growing File Support
Significantly reduce transcoding process time by allowing watch folders to begin transcoding formats like TS and MXF while the source file is written or captured to disk.
HEVC Dynamic Encoding
Dynamic encoding enables you to encode at the highest possible quality in the shortest possible time. The process first analyses the encoding complexity of the entire clip and then applies high-quality presents to maximise quality in hard-to-encode sequences and faster, lower-quality regions where the difference won’t be visible.
Productivity
Video/Audio Rewrapping and Passthrough
Swap containers and trim content without re-encoding it. At the same time, Cambria FTC allows AC-3 audio to pass through while also preserving metadata and can normalize audio without affecting the video.
Black Frame/Color Bar Removal Filter
Automatically remove black frames and color bars during transcoding. You can set segment removal thresholds based on segment duration, black color level, and audio level. You can also set segment preservation thresholds and exceptions, such as ignoring initial and/or ending duration.
Audio Normalizer
Cambria FTC includes an audio normalizer at no additional cost. It supports audio normalization for EBU R128, BBC PPM, and different audio normalizing configurations can be set for different audio tracks.
Advanced Audio Features
Cambria FTC features flexible multi-track audio management that can fix incorrect mappings, create separate tracks for streaming (stereo, surround), separate multiple languages into separate files, and add or replace tracks in video file. These modifications can be configured via the user interface or our web-based scripting system. It can be implemented via watch folders or the API, which is ideal for simplifying repetitive operations.
Audio and Captions
Cambria FTC's multitrack engine treats each audio and metadata track as discrete entity. You can normalize each audio track separately and add multiple closed-caption files for different languages.
Integration
Cambria FTC Plug In
Cambria FTC's plug-in architecture allows third party tools to seamlessly become integral parts of Cambria workflows. One example is EZ Title, which lets you burn in or embed closed captions in EIA 608, EIA 708, DVB or teletext format. You can embed multiple languages caption tracks as well. Cambria FTC's plug in architechture also supports Nexguard for forensic watermarking and Kantar for audio watermarking.
Cipix for Multi DRM
Cambria FTC supports the Cipix interface, which lets you integrate your DRM. Users can choose from PlayReady, Widevine and FairPlay, which support all major web browsers and mobile OSs.
Nexguard Forensic Video Watermarking
Nexguard forensic watermarking SDK is being integrated into Cambria FTC and can create watermarks during transcoding. It supports resolutions up to Ultra HD as well as High Dynamic Range. Users require a Nexguard forensic WMK license to use this optional feature.
Kantar Audio Watermarking
Kantar's audio watermarking SDK is integrated into Cambria FTC to watermark audio streams while transcoding. Audio streams can be watermarked with unique identifiers that facilitate audience measurements. Users need to have Kantar license, and this is available as an option in Cambria FTC.
Avid Interplay, Harmonic VOS, Akamai, S3
Users can read and write files to and from various cloud storage providers including Akamai Netstorage, S3, and Wasabi. Avid Interplay can ingest encoded files directly from Cambria FTC, and Harmonic VOS uploader allows users to directly upload and check-in encoded files to Harmonic VOS.
Other Unique Features
Source Analysis and Preset Creation
Cambria FTC can inspect the properties of a video file and create an encoding preset to generate multiple identical outputs, including resolution, codecs, bitrate, and other settings such as transport stream PIDs and repeat rates. This allows users to easily match presets created and deployed in various transcoding programs, simplifying the transition from your previous encoder.
Ad Detection/Insertion
Cambria FTC has an SCTE35 inject filter which allows users to insert SCTE 35 markers into output streams based on ad cue points in an XML file. It can also suggest insertion points automatically by analyzing the video.
Various Video/Audio Filters
Cambria FTC includes multiple video and audio filters, including: color control, color range adjustment, 601/709 correction, denoiser, logo, text burn in, teletext burn in, DVB subtitle burn in, XML filter, timecode burn in, audio normalizer, volume adjustment, audio audio surround to stereo, audio delay, etc
Exceptional Video Quality
Cambria FTC uses our own motion compensation technology for frame rate conversion, which provides for smooth, high quality results. Cambria FTC also performs outstanding, multi frame, motion adaptive deinterlacing. It can adjust playback speed with audio pitch correction where needed. Its content adaptive frame conversion minimizes stuttering and an automatic scaling algorithm helps maximize visual quality.
