Cambria FTC is a next-generation, scalable transcoder used by leading broadcasters, IPTV and OTT professionals worldwide. The latest Cambria FTC update, version 4.4, includes an enhanced Cambria FTC Packager with support for multi-DRM via CPIX. Its open specification developed by DASH-IF is compatible with all major DRM systems and playout formats.
“With this update to Cambria FTC, we can offer our customers a complete and flexible DRM solution with a CPIX interface,” says Martin Belleau, vice president of engineering at Capella Systems. “CPIX provides an interoperable, XML-based format to exchange content protection configurations between different systems, creating a seamless packaging and encryption workflow.”
Cambria FTC V4.4 also adds Teletrax watermarking, a leading digital watermarking solution for broadcasters. Its enhanced MXF exporter is now compatible with SDF and HDF to meet the requirements of our many European users, and its Avid exporter now includes the AVC-Intra codec. For better performance and quality during HEVC encoding, Cambria FTC V4.4 also integrates the latest x265 library.
“Consistently adding support for new codecs and formats is a recipe for our success,” says Ikuyo Yamada, CEO of Capella Systems. “Our goal with each new update is to improve our products to serve the evolving needs of our customers with timeliness and quality.”
The Cambria Live Series, Capella Systems’ software-based live encoding suite for broadcast professionals, adds many exciting new and enhanced features in its current update. The new Cambria Live Packager can ingest multi-bitrate live inputs and output live ABR streams – such as HLS, DASH, CMAF and CMAF CTE – to a variety of CDN platforms, including Akamai, AWS Elemental MediaStore and Brightcove.
Cambria Live V4.4 can generate an audio-only stream in HLS, a common workflow for radio broadcasters, and it can easily enable a replay feature with its program start/end marker support for HLS.
“We understand monetization of audio live streaming is a big opportunity for radio broadcasting,” adds Yamada. “Cambria Live is a flexible and highly customizable solution that can directly upload streams to S3 locations and is fully integrated with Yospace, a leading SSAI solution provider, to support ad-insertion for audio-only HLS.”
With support for ESAM XML via REST API, having Cambria Live integrated into your automation system creates a fully automated live streaming workflow with ad insertion. A new Command Line plug-in allows users to integrate Cambria Live into their existing systems with minimal effort.
